Qutub Minar is the tallest minaret built of bricks in the world and it is the perfect example of early Indo-Islamic architecture. The reasons for its construction still remains a mystery. It was built in 1206 and is believed to signify the beginning and victory of the Muslim Rule in India. Others claim this magnificent minaret was constructed for the pious population faithful to prayer.

This magnificent minaret has five distinct storeys and has been covered with intricate carvings and verses from the Holy Quran.

India Gate is a towering archway memorial built in memory of the Indian martyrs who lost their lives fighting for the British army in First World War. In the night this incredible tower glows warmly under the floodlights and the garden that line its boulevard is the ideal place for the perfect summer’s evening walk.

This is the famous astronomical observatory located at Sansad Marg in Connaught Place in Delhi. This is one of Maharaja Jai Singh’s two observatories in the nation. It was built in 1725 and is dominated by a huge sundial known as the Prince of Dials . It has instruments that are able to graph the path of the astronomical universe.

The Lotus Temple is also called The Bahai Temple. It resembles the shape of a beautiful lotus flower. Rajghat is a memorial built on the spot where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. The platform is a simple square platform made of black marble. It was built following the assassination of the charismatic Indian leader in 1948. It is surrounded by beautiful trees planted by world dignitaries like Queen Elizabeth II, Ho Chi Minh, President Eisenhower of the USA and famous others.

The Rashtrapati Bhawan is a famous monument in the Capital. It was the palace of the Viceroy of India before the independence of India. Today, The President of India lives here. This magnificent monument was designed by Edwin Lutyens. Its construction started in 1911 and took 19 years to complete. Towards the west of The Rashtrapati Bhawan you will find a stunning Mughal Garden. It is open for the public every year in the spring season .
